French I is designed as a beginner level language course. There is no prerequisite for this class. Students will learn basic structure, grammar, and vocabulary, with an emphasis on conversation. French culture is also a big part of this class, as we look at differences and similarities between American and French culture.
We use the textbook Discovering French Nouveau- Bleu, by Jean-Paul and Rebecca Valette, as well as supplementary reading listening, and cultural materials.

French II is designed as an intermediate level language course. Prerequisite for this class is prior language study. Students will build on basic structure, grammar, and vocabulary, with an emphasis on conversation. French culture continues to be a focus.
We use the textbook Discovering French Nouveau – Blanc by Jean-Paul and Rebecca Valette, as well as supplementary reading, listening, and cultural materials.
